Founded in the 1950s, EFALOCK’s vision was to provide hairdressing salons worldwide with high quality tools and equipment and to promote creativity and craftsmanship in the hair care industry. In the meantime, EFALOCK has developed into a renowned brand in the field of professional hairdressing supplies and has established itself as a firm partner of hair styling professionals. The product range includes everything professional stylists need for their salon – from hair dryers, straighteners and curling irons to brushes, scissors and trolleys. EFALOCK stands for innovative products that are characterised by ergonomics, advanced technology and an appealing design.

As the data management and layout creation processes were no longer up to date and the data pool had grown to 20,000 assets and 15,000 SKUs in the meantime, the company decided to introduce two systems to increase automation compared to the current status: A Digital Asset Management (DAM) and a Product Information Management (PIM) system. In its search for a suitable provider, EFALOCK came across apollon and its in-house development Online Media Net (OMN).

The project

EFALOCK managed all product information in Excel spreadsheets. This product information was published both in the annual catalogue with around 260 pages and in various flyers that were produced throughout the year. As data management and layout creation were associated with a great deal of manual effort, EFALOCK decided to introduce a system to increase automation compared to the current status.
