OMN PIM is designed to display item master data transferred from ERP systems and enrich it with marketing attributes. Product descriptions, classifications, variants and linked media form a data foundation for your output channels.
A typical workflow starts with an item number and defined master data from the ERP. In OMN, the product team adds sales-related content. After the agreed quality checks, it is available for further output.
What to clarify for a SAP integration
The SAP system and version, available interfaces, item identifiers and data model determine the integration approach. Specify which fields are maintained exclusively in the ERP and which in OMN, so imports do not overwrite editorial enrichment.
Also plan initial migration, ongoing changes, deletion or blocking flags, and error reporting. The OMN REST API is one possible technical component; the actual approach is defined for your environment.
