STARTING POINT
Fragmented systems, no PIM, no DAM.
Before OMN
- Neither Product Information Management (PIM) nor Digital Asset Management (DAM) in place
- Product, media, and text information maintained separately across different systems
- Redundant data and manual coordination processes
- No consistent way to deliver information to e-commerce and print
Wilhelm Egle GmbH is a long-established family business headquartered in Pfaffenhofen an der Roth, Germany. Since 1949, Egle has stood for high-quality food — best known for gently pressed edible oils and a carefully curated range of organic products.
Migrating to the 360e ERP system, delivered together with implementation partner e-velopment, gave Egle the opportunity to fundamentally rethink its product communication. Driving that digitalization sustainably called for a central Product Experience Management platform.
PROJECT GOALS
PIM First — four objectives for the project.
PIM & DAM as the Foundation
A consistent “PIM-first” approach with a new data model, complemented by a central DAM with standardized structures — the basis for automated processes along the entire product lifecycle.
Data Quality & Internationalization
Reduce redundancies and manual effort, and deliver information to e-commerce and print faster. For internationalization: workflow-integrated DeepL translation with terminology management.
Connected Channels & Systems
Connect ERP, Shopware, and print production so that every system works from consistent, up-to-date data — plus the basis for automated catalog production with InDesign and Xactuell.
Standardization & Efficiency
A consistent focus on the OMN standard minimizes custom development and safeguards maintainability, future readiness, and user acceptance — with shorter publishing cycles.
THE SOLUTION
OMN as an Integrated PXM Platform.
With Online Media Net (OMN), Egle relies on a central Product Experience Management platform that unites PIM, DAM, workflow, and channel management in a single solution — on a shared data foundation, delivered automatically to e-commerce and print.

From the product range to the online shop: OMN consolidates product, media, and text information in a single central platform. E-commerce, catalog, and promotional media are supplied automatically from that shared data foundation — consistently across every channel.
Connected System Landscape
All systems connected. OMN links the new 360e ERP system and the existing Shopware online shop along the product lifecycle. The open, API-based architecture creates flexibility for future requirements.
Central Data Foundation
One single source of truth. All product, media, and text information comes together in one place. The data model, developed together with the business units, can be extended and evolved by Egle independently.
Agile Delivery
Step by step to the goal. The project was delivered in close collaboration between the Egle and apollon teams — with the OMN Accelerator, sprint reviews, and continuous alignment, consistently on the platform standard.
Collaboration & Future Readiness
Work from anywhere. Product management, purchasing, marketing, sales, and external partners all work together in OMN. Standardized workflows and open interfaces create the basis for new channels and international markets.
OPERATIONS & DEVELOPMENT
apollon eCommerce for the Shopware shop.
Alongside building the Product Experience platform, apollon eCommerce runs Egle’s Shopware online shop: continuous development, the technical integration of ERP and OMN, and stable, secure operations.
Shop Handover & Operations
Handover during live operations. apollon eCommerce took over the www.egle.de and www.egleshop.at online shops while business continued as usual, and develops them further in regular releases.
OMN Integration
Straight from the single source of truth. The Shopware shop is supplied from OMN with consistent product information, digital assets, and current prices — for a shorter time-to-market.
ERP Integration & Data
360e is connected. Interfaces for stock, prices, and orders, complemented by attribute mapping, list and base prices, customer number import, direct order forms, ingredient output, and voucher codes.
Checkout, Frontend & Compliance
Optimized and legally sound. An optimized checkout with the right payment methods and a modern, mobile-optimized frontend. Referral marketing, a voucher system, and newsletters strengthen marketing; ongoing security updates keep the shop stable.
AI & AUTOMATION
Intelligent processes along the product lifecycle.
Standardized, automated processes support the entire product lifecycle — from creation and enrichment through quality assurance to cross-channel delivery for e-commerce and print.
AI-powered Translations
Workflow-integrated translation based on DeepL, with a company-specific terminology glossary and direct integration into existing approval processes.
Integrated AI Services
AI-powered creation and optimization of product, marketing, and e-commerce copy. Intelligent assistance functions take workload off the business units.
Automated Print Production
Database-driven print production with Adobe InDesign and Xactuell — prices and product data stay editable right up to production release.

“With OMN, we have created a central platform for the first time, bringing together product information, digital assets, and our product communication. What particularly convinced us was the collaborative partnership with apollon and the consistent focus on standardization rather than individual custom solutions. At the same time, we are investing in a platform that is continuously developed further and that, with its integrated AI functions, gives us the foundation for the product communication of the future.”

RESULTS
A shared data foundation for every channel.
With OMN, Egle has a central platform for product information, digital assets, and marketing content. The shared single source of truth delivers consistent data, efficient processes, and a cross-channel product experience.
Data & Processes
For the first time, all product, media, and text information is managed centrally. The result: significantly higher data quality, consistency, and process reliability — with less manual maintenance and coordination effort.
Omnichannel & E-Commerce
Consistent product information is delivered centrally to every sales channel. Shopware and additional output channels are supplied automatically, and catalogs and promotional media are produced from the database.
A Foundation for Growth
Standardized workflows shorten time-to-market. The scalable architecture with open interfaces provides the basis for multilingual product communication, international markets, and AI-powered product experiences.

OUTLOOK
Ready for the next level.
The focus is on workflow-integrated DeepL translation, expanding AI-powered services, further automating print production, and continuing to develop the Shopware shop. The platform keeps growing together with apollon.
Structured, semantically enriched, and context-aware product information will enable AI agents not only to find products, but also to understand them, compare them, and recommend them independently.
