Unified and integrated digital experience with future-oriented data management

Already in its 8th generation, the traditional company supplies a wide variety of target groups with construction, handicraft and garden products as a generalist. At the beginning of the project, LEITERMANN had two different stores and a fragmented system and solution landscape in place. The most important goals for LEITERMANN were to modernize the technology and infrastructure, to manage the article data independently of the channels, to develop a design that is suitable for the target group, and to merge the two existing online stores to create synergies – it was also important to the family-owned company that the stationary trade be integrated.

Solution


After apollon had already centralized the data management at LEITERMANN with OMN and optimized it with the help of a flexible and well-thought-out data model for the output into all relevant channels, the development of the new store system was also assigned to apollon and implemented with Shopware 6.

The challenge was to develop a unified and comprehensive e-commerce solution from two differently branded online stores – this included the design and user experience as well as the technology. As a basis, apollon has developed a middleware that fills both the store and the ten relevant marketplaces for LEITERMANN – including Kaufland, eBay, Amazon and Mercateo – with the approximately 300,000 images and the approximately 100,000 articles from the OMN.
